F Ron Miller is a VERY old friend with Ross McBride — going all the way back to high school. Both went on to study graphic design at the California Institute of the Arts. Ross then came to Japan, of course. Ron went to London for a few years, to study at the Royal College of Art, and then back to Los Angeles. There, he set up his own design practice where he’s been working ever since.
Ron’s graphic design, and art direction is closely connected to Hollywood. He has designed numerous movie posters as well as title sequences for features such as Logan, Walk the Line, and soon to be released Ford v Ferrari. He’s perhaps best known for the many covers and packages he’s designed for The Criterion Collection, a company dedicated to the release of important classic and contemporary films. Attached are a few samples of his work, and you can find much more on his site. <www.fronmiller.com>
Ron designed the Normal Timepieces website a few years ago, but sadly, you can’t see any of the work he did for us as his version is no longer online. What you see now was entirely done by our staff in Tokyo. (Sorry Ron!)
